Meteorological data measured at a meteorological station
Data is available from 2019 to 2023 for all registered meteorological stations globally.
Met data includes wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative humidity, cloud cover and precipitation.
Data is typically measured at a height of 10 m above ground, following World Meteorological Organisation standards. It is, however, good practice for users to review the locations and check the instrument heights and surroundings.
Data available is pre-formatted for use in the dispersion models:
- CERC ADMS (.met) and
- USEPA AERMOD (.sfc/.pfl)
Ancillary data products are also available. These include:
- Surface characteristics for the station location
- Windrose of the met data
- Wind statistics analysis
Note, other local stations may exist but the quality may not be sufficient and may not adhere to World Meteorological Organisation standards. If there are no appropriate stations near to your location of interest, it is recommended that Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) data is used instead.
